sunday and monday

okay yesterday being sunday was a pretty eventful day. after i got done writting my post the austrailian (jack), the norweigen (erik), the other american (collin) and me went to find a place to play american football. we ended up walking around our neighborhood and finding an incredible park. the place had an excellent view of the andes and a valley surrounding quito. we threw the ball around until our lungs were about to explode and then we headed back to the hotel for lunch. after lunch we decided that we had to walk around the old part of the town or el centro. once we got out of the cab that we took we immediately started taking pictures of the spanish colonial architecture (we fit in with all the japanese tourists). we walked the streets for hours just looking at the surrounding mountains and this amazing city. after all of this walking we (the four of us from the park) headed for a sky-scrapping cathedral. there we ended up findin other of our collegues. having found them we also met some other spanish language students-they were both from the states but one girl spoke swedish. this called for some beers, so we went to the nearest snack shack which actually turned out to be a really cool bohemian artist hang out. we sat and talked to people there while a guy played beautiful foklore (native music) guitar. after all of this excitement i just went back to the hotel and crashed. monday was the first day of language school. after breakfast we all pilled on a city bus and road to the school. it turned out that we all got our own personal teachers. we were in school all day studying hard. it was intense but i can just taste my spanish getting better. monday night being tonight we just crashed. thats about it we ll see what happens in the next couple of days.
